The Competitive One

You are on the golf skills improvement train and always looking to level up.

Every playing opportunity is a chance to sharpen the saw.

When you aren’t playing or practicing, you are googling golf coaches on YouTube.

You are doing your strength training and mobility work to make sure you are in tip-top shape for the next round.

You look to the pros to see what they are doing and adopt strategies to give you that edge.

You are eager to book the next tee time. You feel any if you don’t have that anticipation of the next round or the big playing day(s) of the season. You may play in multiple leagues and you play for money.

You play in the club championship and you have a goal to win it (or maybe you already have??? good on you, girl!)

Here are some next steps to consider to challenge your skills further:

  • Do you keep a handicap? If you don’t, you should start NOW so you can participate in competitions and feed your FIRE.

  • Find your local golf association and inquire about your local, state and national competitions you could play in.

  • Join your local LPGA Amateurs group and consider joining a Cup team. On their website, lookup Events > Competitions > and you’ll see Cup Team information. You will have to get in contact with your local chapter - they can help you with all the details! These teams travel regionally and nationally to compete for the LPGA Amateurs Cup.
