The Ultimate Golf Bag Checklist

That Sinking Feeling When You Realize You Forgot... Everything

Picture this: You're walking up to the first tee, finally feeling brave enough to play with that group from work. You reach into your bag for a tee and... panic. Where are they? Your heart starts racing as you realize you also forgot ball markers, extra balls (because let's be honest, you're going to need them), and oh no – did you remember sunscreen?

Sound familiar?

If you've ever stood on a tee box feeling like everyone's watching while you frantically dig through your bag looking for basic essentials, you're not alone. That stomach-dropping moment when you realize you're unprepared is something every woman golfer has experienced – and it's exactly why I created something that's going to change your level of preparedness forever.

The Real Reason You Feel Unprepared (And It's Not What You Think)

Here's what nobody talks about: that feeling of being unprepared on the golf course isn't really about forgetting a ball marker or extra tees. It's about that deeper fear that you don't belong there. That nagging voice in your head whispering, "Everyone can tell you’re new & you don’t belong here."

I get it. I've been there.

A few years ago, I was that woman frantically googling "what to bring to golf course" at 10 PM the evening before my first league night The one who showed up & threw random golf items in the basket of the golf cart, hoping I'd covered all the bases. The one who spent more mental energy worrying about what I might have forgotten than actually enjoying the game.

But here's what I learned: Confidence on the golf course starts before you even step foot on it. It starts with knowing you have everything you need, organized exactly how you want it, ready for whatever the day throws at you.

The Day Everything Changed for Me

Last summer, I was playing golf in a foursome - it was one of those perfect golf days – until the 4th hole when one of my playing partners started complaining her hand hurt. Blister. Her golf glove so worn - there was a hole in it!

While she was debating whether to call it quits, I remembered I'd packed an extra glove in my bag. I sealed it in a ziplock bag so that the moisture didn’t get to it, and it would be ready when I needed a new glove. Of course I lended it to her! Not only did she finish the round, but she went on to make two birdies! She still texts me about that day.

That's when it hit me: Being prepared isn't just about you – it's about being the kind of golfer others want to play with. The one who has a solution when someone needs it. The one who makes the round better for everyone.

What Your Golf Bag Says About You (Whether You Realize It or Not)

Your golf bag is like your golf personality on display. Are you:

  • The Social Butterfly who brings portable speakers and business cards because golf is about connections?

  • The Always Prepared One who has band-aids, bug spray, and backup batteries because you think of everything?

  • The Zen Golfer who packs essential oils and healthy snacks because golf is your meditation?

  • The Jetsetter who needs travel-sized everything and AirTags because you're always on the go?

The problem is, most women are trying to pack like someone else instead of embracing their own golf personality. They're bringing what they think they "should" have instead of what actually serves them.

The Ultimate Golf Bag Checklist: More Than Just a List

This isn't your typical "don't forget your clubs" checklist. This is a personality-based system that helps you pack like the golfer you actually are, not the golfer you think you should be.

Inside, you'll discover:

  • Four distinct golf personalities and exactly what each one needs to feel confident and prepared

  • Bonus nonperishable snack ideas – because nobody plays their best hangry

  • Packing tips for the career-minded golfer who knows that networking is a full time gig, even on the golf course

But here's what makes this different: It's organized by who you are, not just what you need. You'll finally pack with intention instead of panic.

The Golfer You're Becoming

Here's what I know about you: You didn't start playing golf to feel anxious and unprepared. You started because you wanted to challenge yourself, connect with others, maybe even surprise yourself with what you could accomplish.

The Ultimate Golf Bag Checklist is about more than just packing your golf bag. It's about stepping into your identity as a golfer who belongs on any course, with any group, in any situation.

It's about that feeling of walking up to the first tee knowing you've got this – not because you're perfect, but because you know who you are & you've prepared accordingly.

My personal recommendations

If you are looking to purchase some basics for your golf bag, here are my recommendations for a few must-have items.

Golf Gloves

Gloves are worn on your non-dominant hand. So right handed golfer wears gloves on the left hand (although some people prefer to wear no gloves, and others want gloves on each hand, and all are A-OK!)

Golf Balls

This season I am LOVING the Srixon Q-Star tour. They have a sticky feeling to them and (at least I think) it helps me on the putting greens. If you are looking for something less pricey but also a great golf ball, try their Soft Feel series.

Golf Tees

These Martini Tees are not only colorful but also provide a valuable visual cue for how far to push your tee into the ground. These are very popular in my golf leagues!

If you are looking for something more basic, I still prefer to play with plastic golf tees and would recommend Maxfli 3 1/4” tees which also have a visual marker to let you know how deep to push your tee into the ground.
